Adding the bot vs signing into the website
It is important to understand the difference between inviting the Discord bot to a server and logging into the web companion:
Inviting the Discord Bot
Requires Manage Server permissions on a Discord server. Adding the bot makes its slash commands (/claim, /inventory, /arena) available to all members in designated channels.
Signing into the Website
Available to any player with a Discord account. Signing in does not add the bot to any server. It simply connects your Discord ID to your MFC Footy player profile so you can use the web Squad Builder, Decision Room, and Dashboard.
First commands to try
Once the bot is added to your server, start with these essential commands.
Displays an interactive help guide, category explanations, and syntax hints directly in chat.
Claim your hourly drop to receive bonus coins and a random player card for your collection.
Claim your daily bonus rewards every 24 hours to stack currency and booster items.
View your owned player cards, total card count, and inventory index numbers.
Required Discord permissions
The bot requires standard application permissions to operate properly within your server channels:
Required to respond to slash commands and post drop results.
Required to display rich embeds with card statistics, ratings, and leaderboards.
Required to render dynamically generated card artwork and squad pitch images.
Common questions & troubleshooting
Why are slash commands not appearing in my server?
When a bot is newly invited, Discord can take up to an hour to register global slash commands across all servers. You can also verify that the bot has permission to use Application Commands in the specific channel settings.
Do I lose my cards if I leave a server?
No. Your MFC Footy inventory and club progression are tied to your unique Discord user ID, not to any individual server. You can access your cards from any server with the bot or directly on the web app.
